Dr. Arnold Todd McClain
Todd McClain has practiced periodontics for nearly two decades and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Todd currently maintains practices in Durham (est. 2001) and Chapel Hill (est. 2010). In addition to private practice, he serves as an attending at the University of North Carolina Hospitals Dental Clinic. Todd is a graduate of the North Carolina State University College of Electrical and Computer Engineering (BSEE), the Howard University College of Dentistry (DDS) and the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry (MS/Cert. Periodontics). Particular clinical interests include immediate implant placement and intravenous sedation.
When Todd isn't practicing periodontics, he finds joy in life’s simple pleasures. He has a passion for traveling, which allows him to explore new cultures and landscapes. Back at home, he enjoys the hands-on satisfaction of farming, connecting with nature and nurturing the land. Todd also cherishes time spent with his fiancé and two daughters, whether they're playing sports, listening to music together, or just enjoying each other's company. These activities reflect his love for both adventure and family, balancing the demands of his profession with moments of joy and togetherness.

Dr. McClain takes immense pride in his two teenage daughters, who have grown into intelligent, kind, and resilient young women. Watching them navigate the complexities of adolescence with grace and determination fills him with both admiration and gratitude. He values the close bond they share with one another. As they continue to mature, Dr. McClain finds great joy in supporting their ambitions and celebrating their achievements.
